DIRECTIONS:

The village of Froncysyllte is situated on the A5 between Chirk and Llangollen. From the South — Enter the village and go across the pedestrian crossing.  You will see a bus lay-by on your left. Just at the end of the lay-by is a road (which looks like someone’s driveway!) going up parallel to the A5; this is Alma Road. Follow this road as it goes round a sharp left hand bend.

 

Heading up hill, after 20 yards, turn right (signposted Yr Ochr. This is a very sharp bend, so depending on the steering-lock on your car, you may not get round in one attempt).

 

If you get to the sign for Woodland Road you have come to far.

 

You are now on our lane but you need to go up, up and up!

 

Leave houses behind and go out into fields. There is a farm on the right called Llanerch. Go past this up the steep hill and Ty Newydd is next on your left. You can park at the front of the house. Remember we are 1000ft up!
